The costume fee will cover the RENTAL of the Jitterbug capes, skirts, headbands, Crow hats and wings. $10.00 Please pay this fee before February 23rd. |
| All girls will |
need to PURCHASE red leotard and tights through ESCAPE for their Jitterbug and Poppy costume base. They are being ordered in bulk at a low rate and will be yours to keep. Size sheet and payment are due February 23rd. |
ALL MUNCHKINS:
| Colors: |
Bright colors; blue, red, yellow, green, purple, orange and pink shades (No light pastels, denim, plain white, tan or black.) |
| Socks: |
Brightly colored socks or stockings: Striped, plaid or polka dotted socks. |
| Shoes: |
White fabric tennis shoes (example: Keds). Can be found at Wal-Mart, Payless, K-Mart or Target for about $5-10. ESCAPE will be spray-painting all shoes red. |
| Hair: |
Please select one of the following: Wig or hat |

* You may wear a "crazy colored wig", which needs to be a solid color. No curly multi-colored "Clown Wigs". |
|
* You can purchase a brightly colored bucket hat from ESCAPE for $2.00 while supplies last, or decorate a hat with flowers, fruit, or ribbons. Hats and wigs need to be bright and coloful. |
MUNCHKIN BOYS:
- T-Shirts: Start with a brightly colored oversized T-shirt and add pieces like vests or suspenders. Absolutely No Denim.
- Pants: Boys will wear brightly colored pants or overalls. Check the local thrift stores. Oversized is okay, suspenders will hold them up and add more color and character.
MUNCHKIN GIRLS:
- Dresses: All Girls can wear Munchkin dresses or overalls. Girls can also use an oversized brightly colored T-shirt and add an apron. You may embellish the T-shirt with ribbons, buttons, or a collar. The sleeves can be gathered by inserting the elastic into the sleeve hem to make it more feminine.
- Aprons: You can make a simple apron with less than 1 yard of fabric using Wonder-Under or Stitch Witchery. Choose a bright, large print pattern that can be distinguised from about 20 feet away.
- If you do not sew, you can check with the costume committee for a list of people who are willing to sew for a fee.
POPPIES:
- Girls will wear the same red leotad, tights, and shoes as Jitterbug.
- Girls will add a flower headpiece provided by ESCAPE.
CROWS:
- Shirts: Black turtleneck or long sleeve black shirt.
- Pants: Black Full-length stretch pants, yoga pants, biking pants, sweat pants, exercise or leggings. (Available at Big 5, Old Navy, Wal-Mart, or Thrift Stores.)
- Shoes/socks: Black jazz shoes or boots, or a low/medium heel that you can dance in. Payless has a good selection of similar types.
- ESCAPE will provide hats and wings.
JITTERBUGS:
- Shoes K-3: Use same red shoes from Munchkin costume.
- Shoes 4-6: Use same black shoes from Crow costume.
- Girls will be wearing their red leotard and tights. Skirt, cape and headbands provided by ESCAPE.
MONKEYS:
- Shoes/Socks: Black or brown shoes that should be comfortable to dance and run in.
- Boys will be wearing the brown Monkey costume, gloves, etc. provided by ESCAPE.
EMERALD CITY:
- Colors: Multi shades of Emerald green, Kelly green, similar greens, and gold. Please note the sample colors attached at the top.
- Pieces: Shirts, pants, ties, vests, hats, jackets, dresses, and skirts.
- Shoes: Boys can most likely wear the same shoes they wore as Monkeys.
- Shoes: Girls need a low/medium black heel, character shoes, or jazz shoes or boots. Most of the girls will be able to wear their "Crow shoes."
Please note the date of your 1st Costume Check on the schedule. Use the next 2 weeks to get a head start on finding some of these items. For the munchkins: Reds and Bold Pinks should be out because of Valentines Day. For EmeraldCity: Emerald green shades should be easy to find with the upcoming Holiday, "St. Patrick's Day." Try not to wait until the last minute.
